Project Children

The has 4 children. See below:

Turgay – the welder

Ever since I moved to Tarlabasi, the welder and me had a special “hi there”-relationship – we always nodded in greeting, but hardly talked a word.

Aziz – the Shoe Shiner

Aziz sits on the top end of Ömer Hayam, every day. He says he has been here since 35 years – in summer and winter.  However, he always smiles when he sees us in the morning and nods his silent greetings.

Sabiha

Sabiha is this really friendly lady in our neighborhood, she is cleaning our staircase and around the house – and sometimes replaces broken light bulbs.

Kemal

Kemal runs the little store, the Bakkal at the corner of our street. He’s been here since 1979.
